12 days left to LOVE oregon

When we found out we were pregnant with Lily, I thought, "oh.no." 19 months apart seemed close. But what did I know? Yes it was a little rough at first, but now these two have so much fun together! (excluding 3rd pic) built in buddies! One silly thing they LOVE to do together is lay next to each other and kick their legs as fast as they can. It really doesn't matter WHERE they do this, though some of their favorite locations are on the dryer (it makes a cool noise) and the pack-n-play (mesh sides are bouncy). My heart just melts whenever I see them sharing toys or reading together. Granted, the other 40% of the time my heart is racing because of the screaming and crying...but hey, I'm just grateful for the good times!
So the other day I saw some beautiful spring flowers and bulbs at the store. I had a little pitty party for myself because even though this is one of my favorite things to do "pre-spring"...I couldn't justify the time and expense considering we're shipping off in 12 days. It got me pretty bummed about doing this whole transition thing again. I was all worked up, so much so that I even teared up when I saw the MILK had an expiration date that was longer than we were going to be around. It takes so LOOOONG to feel "normal" after a big move, and its so LOOOONG before you can restart your traditions like planting pretty pots of flowers. Boo Hoo right? Well, later on my doorbell rang. Much to my surprise sat this little tub of sunshine, along with a note from my visiting teachers! Coincidence? I think not. I am grateful for a Heavenly Father who is aware of even the smallest disappointments...and I am thankful for the committed ladies who come to see me and the wonderful Visiting Teaching program!

12 days?!?!Why isn't there a big party planned?Wait, there probably is, I've just been 'accidentally' forgotten off the invite list..I definitely think visiting teachers are a gift from Heavenly Father, I've had such great ones, I need to be better about it so I could do the same for someone else.We are all here for you whether you're 3 miles away, or 3,000 miles away.We should all volunteer our husbands to help with the move while all us girls go out eh eh eh

I can't believe how fast time really goes! Texas is going to be a great adventure, I just wish I was coming too! Oh well. Maybe next year. We have to have another girls' night before you leave. Please let me know what I can do to help...watch kids, whatever! You're a pretty awesome gal and I'm so glad that I've been able to get to know you!

Tara- It's Lisa Holterhoff. I have been meaning to email you for so long but since baby #2 arrived it has been crazy. I have been peeking at your blog and it's so cute and fun to see your family. I wish you and your family so much good luck in Texas. I miss seeing you in KC!

Cute kid pics! It reminds me of Carter and Kimball when they were small! It is hard to move but luckily you'll have a built in support group when you get to Texas. I know you'll jump right in to playgroup and enrichment activities and feel at home in no time! Isn't the church great that way?

Oh Tara. What a great post and I always just love your pictures. I've had a few of these experiences lately too. It's really amazing.

I'm thinking of you a TON to make an easy transition out there to TX. I hope things go smooth enough so you can enjoy some spring planting flowers!

I'll miss your posting until things settle down though!

good luck with the move, our big move from salt lake to las vegas was rough... however our move from las vegas house #1 to las vegas house #2 was WAY harder. i hope you're able to get settled quickly and start up your traditions again. (did you find a house in tx?)

My only regret is that our kids are not closer in age. They do have a fun time -- being three years apart -- but I know that being closer in age makes for some built-in buddies. You're little ones have gotten so big. It's hard to imagine they are the same little babies you had here in KC. Good luck in the move. I was born in Houston, and I hear it has nice playgrounds!

to answer your question on our blog, the move from house #1 to house #2 was to upsize. our new house is twice the size of our other house... we bought the first house because housing prices here in vegas scared us (compared to coming from utah) and we didn't want to live out of our means so we played it safe. after 2 years (last year) we went bigger and better. and for some reason THAT move was harder on me. as you can see from my blog, i'm still organizing things.

Sad!!! Don't go Tara!!! You just got here. Every morning I ask Carter what he wants to do for the day and each morning he says "Can we go to Zach's birthday party?" You made quite an impression on my child!! Let me know if you need help with anything!
