1155 days

Three. I am finding it is really such a fascinating age. A fun time. He is my little man, and he LOVES his mama. He watches everything we do. He hears everything we say. He gets it. He told me the other day, "Mom, when I get a little bigger I will kill the bugs for you!" (really? that is just so sweet!)

There are so many changes in the 3rd year. He is getting taller, his legs are longer, he has a neck now, and his hands can reach high above his head (ever notice how a baby's arms don't go much higher than its head?) :) More and more he looks like a little boy, not my little baby.

He brought me a picture of the Little Mermaid and while pointing to her chest asked me what they were. "Ummm, it's her swimsuit?!" (I said hopefully) "Yeah, but what ARE those?" (shoot) "Umm, those are sea shells." He seemed satisfied. (WHEW)

I look at his hands a lot. They still have that toddler/baby pudginess to them. I want to remember those little hands forever.

3 year-olds also have opinions. Strong ones. He walked over to the computer while I was typing my entry and said in an exasperated tone,
"Mom, not THAT kind of picture!"
"What do you mean?" I said, "You don't like it?"
"Moooom, my basketball is BLUE!"
oh. ok. sure thing. color it is.

P.S. On the home front...

Still unpacking, still settling, still trying to figure out where I live. Still need to get some warm weather clothes! :) Still eating "easy meals" like pizza, ravioli, and taquitos. BLAH!

Ready for good fresh food. Ready to meet some friends. Ready to have a CLEAN house. Ready to find the library. Ready for the pool.

Having fun driving through neighborhoods. Having fun eating outside each day. Having fun playing family basketball each night.

I just love the little mermaid story. He's going to have lots of fun questions for you. He is such a cutie! And so BIG! He was just a pudgy little guy when you left KC. Enjoy the warm weather!

Zach really is such a sweet little guy! The mermaid story is hilarious. We have used the word "chest" and now Keyan and Brynna point out the differences in all of ours. SO fun to have inquisitive children! Keyan is always saying, " Are we going to my Zach's house?" We all loved getting to party at the Painters'. YOu guys are awesome. I am glad that you are starting to get settled. Enjoy that sun! I wish we had some.

I love your insight. Three is an age of independence and self awareness, huh? I love the color basketball opinion. Good going with Mermaid story. Ethan and McKinley do carpool for preschool. The third child's mom was driving and apparently the kiddos were talking about breastfeeding since McKinley and the third child, Cole, just had baby brothers. McKinley was calling them "boobs," and Ethan said, "no, McKinley. It's pronounced 'boobies.'" LOL!
