Houston....we have a problem!

Ok, not really. There is no problem, but we are here....in Houston. And because I have been unpacking boxes for the last 4 days (and lets be honest, there are still boxes and piles strewn about) I couldn't think of any other way to begin! I like Houston. Though, it still feels very dream like. (Am I really doing this...is this really my "home" now?) The only problem I am currently facing is a clothing issue with my kids. It is regularly 80 degrees here. People are swimming. People are tanning. People are wearing shorts and t-shirts. But the only thing in my children's drawers are sweaters with snowflakes, and cable-knit tights. I guess that is what happens when you move to a new climate. I think we sort of missed out on "spring" this year. So I just hope the neighbors haven't noticed that my son has worn the same pair of basketball shorts for the last few days, and my daughter is dressed in only a onesie. I'll get to the store eventually! And finally, the pictures. Before we left KC, my sister in law Tiffany asked me to take some pregnancy pictures. I'll admit that "super intimidated and nervous" doesn't adequately describe how I felt to say "sure". But honestly, it was SO much fun to hang out for an afternoon with her! And seriously, (much to my relief) can a picture of a cute pregnant gal EVER be bad?

LOL. I thought you were announcing something w/ those first couple pictures (and not recognizing the couple in them). Glad to hear you made it to Houston!

Awesome pictures! But I also thought you were announcing something...especially with the title...but then I got to the end and went back and saw who it was.
I am jealous that it is 80 degrees! It is still cold here. It does not look like it will get above 60 this week!!!!! I am begging for spring and you skipped...that is not really fair. Enjoy the rays for me!

okay, at first i thought you were sharing a little secret... but now that makes sense. HAPPY UNPACKING! although it's anything but happy. i hated it and just wanted it over, especially with kids, it ends up dragging on. also, find a target--- shirts and shorts about 3 bucks, can't go wrong. (post pics of your new place)

Wow Tara, these are amazing photos. I'm super impressed. Maybe I should book you to shoot my family next time you're in KC.

Goodluck in Houston! I was born there and my mom still keeps her flour in the freezer. (She said she started in there because it was super humid and the bugs liked to get into the flour.) Hope this tip helps...

Okay, I freaked out when I saw those pictures. You can't post pregnancy pictures with a title, "we have a problem" and not have some surprised readers. They are beautiful pictures by the way. I'm so glad you made it there safely and best of luck with the unpacking. I'm sure your kids will get used to wearing sweaters in the heat=) j/k! You'll just have to go shopping! Take care

yeah I also thought you were pulling a kristen mason april fools joke.I LOVE that first picture, the other two are great too!I can't say I ever felt the urge to have someone take a picture of me with a belly shirt on during my pregnancy...Welcome home to Texas, yeehaw!!Enjoy the cool '80' degrees now, your kids are going to want to be running around naked come summer! And please try to keep Dave to refrain from doing the same, for the sake of the neighbors. And humanity.

Tara, you've got talent!! Those pictures are awesome. So did you have to buy an awesome camera to take photos like that? Someday I would love to take a photography class, but until then any pointers you could share would be great!!
